Simmons construction.

The board is chambered foam (offcuts of floor insulation), hence the heavy glass job. Double lapped rails, translucent red tint with full on black dipped nose job. Here's done pictures to bring things up to date.

Blew the dust off last years Simmons replica - I aim to finish this one in the next few weeks. The keels are done, and I have a few ideas about colour. Here are the keels, reclaimed burr elm. Bookmatched too.

Finbox.

Home made jig, router and a skip fry flex fin means the finbox is in. Pinline and hotcoats next.

Nothing exceeds like excess.

Slumdog again.

A little bit of grubby back lane action tonight. A few little bits of filler drying here and there so should be ready for glassing by friday.

A few more.

Reckon on about 15 hours work so far over the last five weeks, and I'm not going to say how little I've spent on materials - its mostly scrap amd glue.

Cedar is now going on. Just two little mistakes but we'll worry about that later on. The smell it gives off reminds me of the Pencil Factory.

The rails are done. Western red cedar and pine. Cure over the weekend and can start closing up next week.

Add a few scraps of XPS floor insulation left over from a racing car project and we're nearly good to close up. a few rail strips to add then it can be decked. The block is good for the leash plug also.

Something chubby for the summer - 7'6" =  19" wide nose, 15" tail, 3" thick, front concave to back vee single fin.

150mm rib spacing this time in 4mm ply, 4mm ply bottom, teak and pine offcuts with cedar scraps for the top.

Run Forrest, Run.

4.2 miles this morning - I'm pretty confident I can make it to the end of the week as I now think I can remember which direction the traffic comes from this side of the Atlantic. Its kind of nice that cars (mostly) give way to pedestrians and cyclists - how refreshing.
 I'm looking forward to a delivery from Wood Surfboard Supply soon - a really cool project to get stuck into once we get back home. Something very special too, and a nice retro twist.

dipped in blanket diaganol EMO longboard.

Never got round to posting the latest longboard = 9'8" evolution longboard, designed by dennis hanson (dirtycrows surfboards) in florida. was in a gloomy place at the time of glassing so the resin job got a little crazy. I like it though, and at 16lbs not too heavy. Thanks to rootedorigin.com for the paulownia = will be back for more. Worked a treat for the pivot fin also = 2.5 planks in total, and all shorter than the finished board = diaganol is good.
